I know Kalev Tiits since 2005. And during all those years he has never stopped to surprise and amaze me with his kindness and his universal knowledge and wisdom. You can have an inspiring conversation with Kalev about neural networks, parallel computing, analog electronic circuits, synthesizers, “rocket science” programming, sound art, contemporary classical music, electronic music, classical music and sound engineering.
But the biggest surprise of all was, when he recently sent us the link to his latest audio-visual piece “Multiskelion”. It almost makes no sense to try to describe this artwork with words. It is a magic carpet ride, an IDM / 1990s Techno / avantgarde audio-visual extravaganza. After seeing this piece Ana and I immediately agreed that we have to exhibit this artwork in our Museum of Utopia. Presenting this kind of contemporary artworks was the main reason we founded our museum.
Multiskelion is a collaboration between Kalev Tiits and Elsi Sloan. Elsi is an actor, music performer, songwriter, improviser and activist. The combination of Kalev’s haunting music and strange video processing merging with Elsi’s fantastic and perfectly timed performance is mind blowing to say the least.
So let me say this loud and clear: come and experience this inspiring, grooving, subtle but also brutal, disturbing and powerful 30 minutes masterpiece!
We recommend to experience this piece from start to end. This is why its screening will start every half an hour, thus for example at 15:00, 15:30, 16:00 etc.
